The Hidden Key & My Office Plant

At work I have a pothos plant that's vines run across the tops of my book shelves four vines total. It grows pretty well around one new leaf a week and about 3 inches in length on each of the vines.

The Hidden Key is the latest modules I have been listening to and Eric says that practicing making plants grow is a good place to start. He even gives you the broad strokes.

Well it was getting to the end of the day this last Friday. I wasn't feeling much like working because I was looking forward to my star reach call later on. I went and filled a couple of bottles with water to water my plants in and around my desk.

When I was done I sat down and started to think about what the information from the module. I went through the process and directed it at the pothos plant. I spent maybe 15-20 minutes in total. I then shut down for the day and left for the weekend.

In all honesty I completely forgot about it until I came into work this morning. I sat down at my desk and noticed that one of the vines had fallen off the shelve. As I was putting it back up I noticed that it had grown quite a bit. It appears each vine had sprouted between 2 to 3 new leaves and 6 to 9 inches in length. Just over the weekend!

Further Comments on Synesthesia

The news article that I post earlier make reference to a new idea that the brain or parts of the brain the interpreter our sense have the ability to "cross talk". They also say that synesthesia doesn't require extra brain connections.

So if extra brain connections aren't required and synesthesia can be induced by removing inhibitions through hypnosis. The only thing left is this "cross talk." Now we must ask ourselves what is this cross talk?

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that it is the sixth sense. The sixth sense can be seen as a sense that links, enhances, and can move beyond all the other senses. We all have a sixth sense. Our ability to use it or its strength depends on a number of things. One of the main limiting factors include inhibitions that we have learned as we grow up. Inhibition is the main hurdle that you are trying to get over when you try to relearn how to use your sixth sense.

So here is what is happening in this experiment through my eyes.

The subject goes into a hypnotic state where its inhibitions are loosened or removed and a program or definition is placed into the subconscious that allows for synesthesia to be understood. Then once back in a waking state the subject takes an experience in using one sense it is interpreted by the sixth sense and relayed to another sense.

How would you like to be able to see or smell music? You could write music like a artist paints.

You can also make come to the conclusion that synesthesia is a learned trait or at least an ability that is held onto from birth.

I love it when science comes so close to finding the sixth sense. It is a shame that they are too afraid to call it what it is. They are constantly coming up with new term like they did here when they "crosstalk"

Hypnosis Can Induce Synesthesia

A little something that is of interest:
Original Article

Researchers find that hypnosis can induce synesthesia

Hypnosis can induce "synesthetic" experiences – where one sense triggers the involuntary use of another – within an average brain, according to a new study in the journal Psychological Science, the premiere publication of the Association for Psychological Society.

The findings suggests that people with synesthesia, contrary to popular belief, do not necessarily have extra connections in their brain; rather, their brains may simply do more 'cross talking' which can be induced by changing inhibitory processes in the average brain.

The research, "Induced cross-modal synesthetic experience without abnormal neuronal connections," was conducted by an international group that includes Cohen Kadosh, previously a doctoral student at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev under the supervision of Prof. Avishai Henik from BGU's Department of Psychology and now at the University College London (UCL); Andres Catena from the University of Granada, Spain; Vincent Walsh from the UCL; and Luis J. Fuentes from University of Murcia, Spain.

People living with synesthesia (known as synesthetes) experience abnormal interactions between the senses. Digit-color synesthesia, for instance, will experience certain numbers in specific colors (for example, they might experience the number seven as red). A possible reason put forward for this phenomenon is the existence of extra connections between brain areas in synesthesia, but this new study suggests otherwise.

To explore the alternative theory of more cross talk (disinhibition) between brain areas in synesthetes, Cohen Kadosh and colleagues used posthypnotic suggestion to show that people who are not synesthetes can be induced to have synesthetic experiences.

After inducing digit-color synesthesia, the volunteers reported similar experiences to those undergone by real synesthetes in their everyday life. For example, one participant described her experience while under posthypnotic suggestion as "When I'm walking on the street, the car registration numbers, if those numbers are on the registration, I see them in those colors." Moreover, hypnotized participants failed a catch test which was also failed by real synesthetes: when subjects were hypnotized to experience seven as red (for example) they could not detect the number when a black seven was presented on a red background.

Cohen Kadosh explains: "Our study shows that hypnosis can induce synesthetic experiences in people, suggesting that extra brain connections are not needed to experience cross-sensory interactions and that it is a change in inhibitory processes - more cross talk within the brain - that causes these experiences. This takes us one step closer to understanding the causes of synesthesia and abnormal cross-brain interactions."

Reflection on Unbound

The other morning my wife had to leave early for work and was up getting ready for the day while I still laid in bed enjoying a few more minutes of sleep. After awhile our dog had decided it was time for me to get up. He busted into the room flinging the door open, jumping on the bed and on me in the process. I tried to cover my face but he was too quick awake me by licking the skin off my face. Deciding his job was done he jumped down and headed back out into the hallway.

As I was lying there getting the motivation to get up and wondering how I ended up with such a goofy dog. I noticed that the light from the hallway was shinning onto the now open door in such a way that the wood grain was almost jumping off the door. I found myself hypnotized by it. the bright white in contrast with the dark shadow of the veins. From the angle one of the dressers in the room was silhouetted by the door. That sharp on contrast between the white door and the dresser still in the shadow I could see the aura of the dresser. A thin film of energy coming around the whole outline.

Then I really started to shift. The energy in the air got really thick. The static red and blue were dancing in through mostly dark room. Some how my attention ended up back to the door but now the wood grain was appeared to be flowing. Almost like lava or something along those lines. The grain slowly moved in kind of a natural motion with the directions of the grain. It was truly beautiful.

Later on after reflecting on the experience I remembered a discussion we had during a star reach call. It was one of the first couple of calls I had with Dan and we were covering the Unbound module. He explained how patterns in nature can help propel you into different states of consciousness. At the time it was a concept that I understood and to a small degree had some experience with. Until now I didn’t really have a full grasp of what he was trying to show me. It is yet another hidden doorway into our own true consciousness that Eric had laid out for us.

Thought Consciousness of Gaia

Awhile back I had a discussion with my star reach coach about what I was calling the I’s of Gaia. He told me that I was on the right track but what I was seeing was not really I’s of Gaia but its’ thought consciousness.

I brought the topic up because I was reflecting on how there seems to be global movements in the thought consciousness of humans that seems to take on a life of its own. Like there is an under lying power source fueling the concept or thought. Beyond that they seems to transcend boarders and continents. The most current one that seems to be on the minds of most the planet is “Being Green” and carbon emissions. I am sure you could go back and identify other in the past but that is not where I am going.

The red cells of the planet can be influenced by the solar radiation from the sun and the cosmic radiation from all the other stars in our galaxies and the other galaxies in our universe then surely then consciousness of Gaia has any affect as well.

In the up and coming Mayan Storm DVD release. Eric Pepin talks about what the Mayans noticed centuries ago. As the planet moves into the dark rift of the galaxy there are going to changes in the amount and quality of the cosmic radiation that is going to be impacting and felt by the planet. Now you might say that it will only be a small percentage, which I would agree with, and it won’t have the much affect, that is where I will disagree. For example a small percentage in the increase in the average temperature of the planet has scientist worrying about complete melt of polar ice. With my views of global warming aside. It shows how small changes can have large effects. So if a small change in temperature can affect the planet as much as they say, then the decrease in the amount of influence that the planet, therefore the people on it, is going to receive is going to have a large effect.

But wait there more! Yesterday there was a news release stating that the closest star to our planet, our sun, is at its weakest levels of solar radiation since measurements began 50 years ago. In the article Ed Smith of NASA was quoted saying the following:

"With the solar wind at an all-time low, there is an excellent chance the heliosphere will diminish in size and strength,”

"If that occurs, more galactic cosmic rays will make it into the inner part of our solar system," added Smith.

Here is the full article: Solar Wind Weakest Since Beginning of Space Age

With a diminished heliosphere more cosmic radiation is getting to the planet. Could this be an attempt balancing or making up for the reduced amount of radiation? Is it a form of intelligence making a conscious decision? Are receiving a different balance of radiation/information from the universe and our sun? Or are the two different forms staying in the same balance only in reduced numbers?

Another idea is that a combination of the consciousness of the planet, the sun, and the universe in any combination are preparing for the coming drought. The sun is lowering it shield over the solar system in order for it to collect more and maybe store more cosmic rays. Like filling up a reservoir during the spring so you will have water all year long. I am not sure if that is possible. If the influence of cosmic radiation is like the energy we collect and store when we mediate this would make sense. Yet another question?

This should be an eye opener for most people, red and white cells alike. Red cells feed and rely on the guidance of this influence. At the same time and at the other end of the spectrum we as white cells as constantly trying to break free of this influence. With it being at an all time low from both our sun and the surrounding stars this could become a very confusing and frightening time for red cells and yet a very exciting time for white cells looking to progress in there development and break free.

Now let’s venture back to the topic I started with on the consciousness of Gaia and reflected on everything I just stated above. Let’s look at the physical reality of what the diminished solar radiation could cause. If levels continue decrease or even just stay the same we could see a general cooling of the planet. How cold is hard if not impossible to say but there are people how have predicted that it could happen with even small decreases in the suns output. So we have the conscious planet Gaia seeing what is coming. Realizing that in order to receive enough cosmic radiation to survive this period the sun is going to have to power down. But it also needs to stay warm enough to sustain the life living on it. Time to change the atmosphere so it can retain more heat. Foreseeing the coming winter the planet has put on a winter coat.

I don’t think that it is a leap to consider this to be true. The industrialization of the planet was way too big of a movement to be something pure created by man alone. The origination may have come form humans but I think Gaia saw that it could use it two fold. First it saw that it could use it to further advance and evolve as a being and second as a way to protect itself for the coming future. So red cells being as easily influenced as they are were inspired by the planet to take it and run.

Now I started out saying the “green” movement was most likely part of the thought consciousness of the planet. As contradictory as that sounds I am going to argue that it fits together nicely. It this point in time we have done enough. We have put enough carbon into the atmosphere to get us through the coming time period and the planet is telling us to stop. Pretty intelligent being if you ask me. Right now we are in an overlap period. Our atmosphere is where is needs to be for the coming future, but it is a little warm right now. Kind of like putting on a full blown winter coat in the fall when a light jacket would do just fine. But don’t fret we will need the winter coat soon enough. We just brought it out of the closet a little early.

Interrupted Flight

My wife and I were on our way out to Minnesota to spend a week on Lake Koronis with her extended family. As we have for the past couple of years we stop and stayed in Bismarck, ND on the way out. Helena is not very big and doesn’t have much for shopping. So one thing that she really likes to do on the way out there is stop and look for a new swimming suit. So Friday night, the same weekend of the HBI Summer Gathering, I find myself in a Kohl’s in Bismarck, ND searching through a never ending sea of racks of clothing and more importantly swim suits.

I normally try to take of advantage of these situations by scanning other people in the store and generally just feeling everything out. This there were very few people around and I was bored to tears. My wife was on her second trip to the dressing room and I was leaning up against a wall near by listening to the elevator music over the store speakers. Then out of no where a song that I know very well comes on, words and all. It was Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. It brought a huge smile to me face and my heart. I closed my eyes and thanked the universe for the gift. I felt a warm glowing buzz come over me and my thought shifted the summer gathering and how I wished I was there.

Then I was hit with a rush of energy and I wasn’t standing in the store anymore. I was floating somewhere unknown to me, basking in a warm loving energy, and being carried by a very loud and strong tone. I had for the most part for gotten where my body was until I was reminded by my wife when she got out of the dressing room.

It took awhile to come completely back down. I had the strong buzzing energy and tone in my ears for at least the next hour.

That night I was laying in bed in our hotel room reflecting on the experience. I couldn’t help but feel that I missed out on taking the experience further. If I had been better prepared I feel like I could have gone anywhere from that point.

To say the least that song holds a whole new feeling to me.

Assimilating Non-thought

The other night I was watching woman's gymnastic with my wife. It is amazing what the people can do. I noticed that when they were showing Nastia Liukin, of the US, between events that she had her eyes closed a lot of the time.

A few days before I was on a Star Reach call with Dan and we were talking about the navigators from the movie Dune. He told me that he used to assimilate them to try and understand and feel that state of mind that they would have to be in to accomplish what they were going to do.

That discussion popped into my head while I was watching her. So I gave it a try. I put myself in her shoes standing there waiting for her turn. I could feel her nervousness and quick thoughts. When her turn was approaching she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. I felt a very real sense of calm come over me and it became very quiet and I started to hear tones. I had felt this before she was in non-thought. I though it was pretty impressive how fast she flip the switch into non-thought.

Last night when I decided I was done working for evening and I found my wife watching more gymnastics. The same girl was preforming. I decided to sit down and give it another try. This time her feel was completely different. She was agitated and felt angry. When she closed her eyes there where brief moments that he approached non-thought but couldn't hold it or move completely into it. I asked my wife what was the matter with her. I guess she was getting some pretty low scores that people thought should be better, including herself.

That explained a lot. I was tried so I didn't finish watching and went to bed.

I thought it was pretty cool experience. It was the first time that I got such a strong signal and feeling in return from someone. Which is really strange since she was on TV. It was a live broadcast so I am sure that helped.

Vacation from the Doe

I am freshly back from Minnesota where I spent a week with my wife's extended family on Lake Koronis. Being on vacation allowed for a good amount of time for self reflection and of course some good old fashion fun.

I have a number of experience that I would like to share. Now I just need to find the time to write them down.

I do want to share one thing that has been on my mind since I have returned. I have started to believe that any vacation or time away from your normal daily grind can be used to further your spiritual development. No matter how short the time or obscure the place.

The doe is use to your daily activities and by changing your routine up you loosen the grip that it has on you. It is almost like the doe loses you momentarily. You are not in your normal geographic location, doing your normal things, or are you even in the same state of mind, you have changed frequency.

In Struggle to Awaken Eric says that 98% of what is going to happen is predictable. This can extend into what I am talking about here. If the Gaia consciousness knows your next move it is easier to keep you under wraps and in line. By breaking out of that 98% and into the 2% Gaia has to play catch-up instead for being one step ahead. Thus giving you more room to roam.

With more room to move it becomes easier to expand your consciousness and awareness. Here are some expereinces I have had. Meditations are stronger with very little babble. The quite babbler also comes from the fact that for the most part I have left the worries of my daily life behind. There isn't much for the babbler to grab onto and run with. An amplified sixth sense. Little thoughts and visions that randomly pop into my head that end up happening. From an untrained point of view it is almost like dijevue. Cloud busting is easier and happens faster.

I think this is also a contributing factor to why so many people profound experience and realizations at retreats and spiritual gatherings. Not only do you get to take advantage of breaking loose of Gaia but you get the added bonus of being around people with similar or higher frequincies that amplify the effect.

Top 8 reasons why the Psychic Sense is the Key to Enlightenment

When you think of the great enlightened masters, they all seem to share many similar traits: Unusually intelligent, charismatic, can do miraculous things, and they all exhibited the use of the Psychic Sense.

The Psychic Sense or Sixth Sense is anything that excels beyond 'basic' sensory.

* So a dog that can always sense when its owner is coming home,
* Waking up in the middle of the night and feeling something is 'strange',
* Or you and a friend laughing about how you were both thinking of Blue Oyster Cult, are all examples of the Psychic Sense in use.

Let me make clear that the Psychic Sense is natural and scientific, not mystical and unexplainable. It's your body's ability to pick up on fine energies, or 'wavelengths', that have yet to be detectable by today's crude electronic instruments -and yet, the body, being a sensitive supercomputer, can.

And because it's a bodily sense, like any muscle or brain tissue, if you don't use it, it will atrophy. While if you use it, it will develop quickly.

So here we go!

1. The Psychic Sense allows you to feel and detect things BEYOND the basic 5 senses.
If you only use the five basic senses for interpreting this world...

* Taste
* Touch
* Smell
* Sound
* Sight

...Everything you can know and understand will remain as basic as everyone else's.

But with the Psychic Sense you can feel and see energy, sense thoughts, anticipate emerging situations, and many, many other things! Everybody already has this sense naturally; they just have no idea how to use it nor are they aware of its value. Imagine going your whole life as deaf, then all the sudden being able to hear; any idea what that would be like? You would now detect a whole new dimension to EVERYTHING! The leaves on trees make a rustling sound, the sounds in the distance tell me what's going on in the next room or miles away - Everything would change!

That's what its like to have an active Psychic Sense; you gain a normally-hidden layer of understanding to everything. It truly is a superior advantage! And with a little practice the Psychic Sense becomes a natural part of all your senses. Imagine how your world would change with this new ability to observe.

How much faster would you become Enlightened having a new sense?

2. The Psychic Sense allows you to Communicate with 'God'.
Spiritual people of all kinds long for communion with God.

God doesn't have the means of communicating as humans do. But God can communicate through 'Vibration' or Energy. This form of communication is very real and can fulfill those who seek it.

It's called 'learning to listen', and you do it by quieting your mind and paying attention to extremely subtle forms of inner-sensation. This is a skill that takes some refinement to achieve, but is not hard with the right training. Meditation is a great way to learn how to do this.

The key that makes it all possible is the Psychic Sense, because you 'listen' by feeling, which is the basis of the Psychic Sense. Learn to allow your subtle sensory to pick up on these kinds of 'Vibratory Information' and soon you will feel closer to 'The One' than you ever have.

3. The Psychic Sense lifts the veil of How Things Work.
The Psychic Sense is a tremendous Learning Accelerator.

By applying your new sense to techniques that use it, such as OBEs, Psychometry, Assimilation, or Remote Viewing, you suddenly can explore the inner-workings of the 'Matrix' of this dimension.

For example, Psychometry brings you face-to-face with Psychic Sense data, Remote Viewing shows how mobile the mind actually is, and Assimilation offers you the living experience of another thing. The experiences from such techniques can be very powerful and will force you to reconsider the world you thought you knew - This is the essence of 'Awakening'.

Say there are some scientists racing to calculate a theory for the Big Bang. And let's say, because they are all very smart and are fairly conventional, all use the five basic senses to draw conclusions and thus are able to bring, say, five variables per sense for their calculation.

25 variables to calculate the Big Bang.

Now, let's say you come along, as a scientist also tackling the Big Bang theory. But maybe you wear Birkenstocks and are not so conventional, but you have an active Since Sense and are not afraid to use it. Since the Psychic Sense is basically a super sensitive tool for gathering more data, you can then bring in another five variables for your calculation, because you are using one more natural sense that the others are not.

You have an advantage: 30 variables to calculate the Big Bang.

Some of the greatest scientists, teachers, and pioneers of our society have been shown to accept and use Psychic Sense data. When you hear, "I was being pulled in this direction" or "the chalk took on a life of its own" it's a good indication of the intuition at work. But actually, it simply shows they are flexible thinkers who are able to use more resources.

4. The Psychic Sense tunes you into your 'Inner Navigator'.

One of the best tools you have for finding what you need in life is the 'little voice inside'. The Navigator is a part of your inner intuition that knows when something is right for you, when its time for a change, and sometimes when you simply need to do something that seems random but is actually very important. But few people have learned to listen to it. After all, it's hard to; that little voice is so often drowned out by our common thoughts and daily concerns. However, building up the Psychic Sense gives your Navigator a bullhorn. Before you know it, you'll have a new resource of confidence within yourself.

5. Superior Psychological Development

Enlightenment includes the pursuit of psychological and behavioral refinement. During this pursuit inner issues become evident and thus present the opportunity to handle them. But did you know that the further you peer into the self, the more essential the Psychic Sense becomes?

The state of meditation is the prime period for true self-observation. No other time are the necessary qualities for this observation present. The ability to quiet the mind and peer into your physical mechanisms is essential for identifying 'dead weight'.

Past memories, unresolved injuries, false ideas, bad thought habits, long standing opinions, and limits in perception are some of the items that arise.

Conventional self-study and therapy can be important, but alone does not amount to the level of introspection required for a pupil of enlightenment. The Psychic Sense is absolutely essential in sensing the deep origins of ideas and the micro mechanics of the brain. Learning how to use it in this way will give you superior advantages.

For example, while using your Psychic Sense you can identify the presence of neurotransmitter stimulants or suppressors that routinely maintain behavior. This is important because when you know your thoughts are being controlled, you take back the power to guide your own mind.

Because the Psychic Sense deals with extremely subtle sensations, you are not dealing with thoughts or ideas - they are too crude and slow. The Sixth Sense can assess arrays of sensation all happening within the same moment. Someone practiced can target the item in question and consciously 'zoom in' to follow a path to a result.

6. Condition the Governor

Enlightenment is all about redefining your understanding of things because of new discoveries of personal experience. But as anyone who has attempted this will find, the brain already has a preferred way of seeing things, thank you very much.

This part of the brain that limits what it will allow you to see, feel, know, and redefine is called the 'Governor', named after the device that keeps cars from going over a certain speed.

The Governor's job actually makes a lot of sense: it keeps you from seeing things that it considers 'unnecessary', like the veins in your eyes, and even certain stimulus that could dangerously overload the brain.

The problem is that it also blocks you from seeing energy, it openly doubts your confidence in healing, and it works to convince you that your spiritual pursuits are in vain. Starting to see the dilemma?

This is where the Psychic Sense can help. By working with the Sixth Sense to establish 'paranormal experiences', these accumulated experiences teach the Governor to adapt to an ever-evolving reality.

If you can teach your Governor that the things you are learning are safe and real, paranormal experiences will get easier and progressively enhanced.

7. Physical Health and Bodily Communication.

Want to live longer and healthier? Learn to build a relationship with the cells of your body; they are living organisms too, with needs and desires. Help them and they'll help you.

Think of your body like an economy. An economy needs different things to run: water, energy, stimulus, vegetables, love, and a lot of other things.

So what happens when your body needs something? Actually, it lets you know. But unless you have a way of paying attention, you won't hear, and the economy falters.

Learning to 'listen' starts with basic awareness and spans into the use of the Psychic Sense. The Sixth Sense is a sensitive tool that can detect various subtle needs of the body. That whim you had yesterday for an Orange - did you act on it? Ever wonder where that craving came from? It could have been millions of living cells desiring a missing nutrient.

Now let me ask you something. If you can hear your body's cells using the Psychic Sense, is it possible also to communicate back? Perhaps have them carry out orders? Fight Sickness?

Hmmmmm...

8. The Psychic Sense will preserve your life.

This section actually carries a dual meaning; the other being your spiritual life.

The more enlightened you become, the more you become a beacon of light. As you may know by now, forces resist this emergence.

Because the instinctual desire to live is so powerful, the natural Psychic Sense of the body has no problem peaking when threatened. No different than the deer that becomes skittish.

Additionally, many of the other tools of the Psychic Sense together form a protective net: Knowing the intentions of others, tracing all likely outcomes, the ability to act according to intuition - all tools brought by the Psychic Sense.

On lighter note, sometimes the Psychic Sense helps to preserve your immediate health. Being aware enough to know that that sandwich 'just didn't smell/feel/look right' can be that deep knowingness that animals commonly display when in the same circumstance.

Summary

In summary, if you are interested in Enlightenment or Awakening you are probably looking to EXPERIENCE the profound.

There's nothing wrong with that - experiences lead to true understanding. But unless you have a tool that can allow you to begin to peek behind the veil of the mundane, it will always remain something you know is there but can't seem to savor.

Energy Movement to the True Self

Awhile back I was starting to feel very stiff in my energy. Very one dimensional, even though that term isn’t technically right. Here is a better anthology to explain it. If you consider being fluid in your energy like the ocean. The water in the ocean has currents and moves around and itself very dynamically and free. Well I was feeling more like a river. Surrounded by solid banks that were keeping closed in and forcing me in one direction. I believe this came from falling into a spiritual rut so to speak. Everything had become too much of a routine. I decided that I should work on doing more energy movements to help break up the bank of the river.

First I sat down and did Water of Life. Feeling very energized and in a nice state of non-thought I stood up and started the energy movements. To begin with the feeling of the energy was like jello. I could feel my hands moving through it but it was not responding to me. It would let my hand pass through but it wasn’t moving. I kept at it and eventually it began to feel more loose. Let’s stick with the jello idea.

What would happen if you had a big bowl of solid jello and started to stir it with a stick?

It would start breaking a part and becoming more fluid, right?

As I persisted I could feel the energy beginning to move in small amounts right around my hands and the solid feeling with dissolving away. The energy was feeling more and more fluid as I continued. I was feeling very content with my progress and was thinking that I had done enough for now. Then my navigator kicked in and told me to push it further. So I did.

I stood still for a minute and really got feeling for my surroundings. Tool a deep breath put my hands out and began to turn pushing and the energy around me in a circle. About half way around my turn the whole room broke free. It was like I the jello had broken free from the bowl and was turning as one mass within it.

As I stopped my turn I could still feel it move around me. I took another deep breath and started to turn in the other direction. This time the whole room responded instantly. At this point in time I was dripping with sweat but it felt really good. Each time it did this I feel the radius of my influence expanding. From the room to the house to the yard. I began to feel very small in reference to the energy I was moving. That is when something unexpected happened.

There was a sudden shift in my perspective. Instead of my body moving and pushing the energy surrounding it felt like I was standing still and everything else was moving around me. Still feeling increased to the point that it felt like my body was even moving around me. It felt like there was a complete separation between the body and myself. I can’t really describe how it felt but imagine feeling like you are standing completely still but at the same time feeling your body moving around you. It was truly an amazing experience.

I brought this up with Dan Tanguay during one of our Star Reach calls. He help me understand and gave me some insight into what I had experience. He said that I had experienced my true self. That I got a taste of what the world feels like from that place. I had managed to slip past and shut down the I’s and the governor that was keeping this part of me from showing through. A step in the right direction.

More information on energy movements can be found on the DVD Warriors Wanted and the book Bending God.

Do we have a Psychic Sense?

In the following article you will learn about the origins of the sixth sense and how it has become like a weak muscle to modern man. We have it, but it is out of shape. You will also learn about the simple ways in which it manifests itself in day to day life and how we can learn to listen, strengthen and incorporate this stunning extra sensory into our daily lives!

Do we have a Sixth Sense?

People are always speaking about the sixth sense. We have all heard of women's intuition, the gut feeling of a firefighter, or how children are intuitive. These things seem common enough. Ask any mother about the gut feeling they get when it comes to protecting their children and they will tell you that it's as natural as the rain to listen to that inner voice. What if that sensory, that inner voice, those subtle feelings were the first whisper of something very profound? The Sixth Sense. Most people would associate this concept with Hollywood or hotline psychics but the truth of it is that we use this sensory every day.

For example. Every time we get that feeling that we need to take a different route home and we find that there was an accident on the route we normally take. Or that uneasy feeling one gets when they feel that someone is in their proximity that has ill intentions. Pretty much everyone living in a major metropolitan city can relate to people keeping their guard up at times. This need is a byproduct of fear and is a basic primitive survival method.

One of the puzzles about our evolution is how we survived during early times. We never had the strength or speed of the animals. Even before we had developed weapons, tools or shelter there was something guiding us, informing us and leading us to make the choices than enabled us to survive against the odds. What was this hidden presence? This guiding voice was the sixth sense. When nomadic man was hunting the plains for food, they were also watching for predators. They would have lived in a constant state of fear because of the natural dangers of everyday life. This fear sparked an evolution of sensory that communicated to them perhaps less subtly that it does today. This inner voice or perhaps inner sensory was in constant motion. It told them whether they should avoid a dangerous area, poisonous food, or even may have alerted them that there was a predator near by.

The interesting thing is that this sensory was a byproduct of the survival instincts of our species. Modern man of course doesn't have nearly the same daily level of fear for their basic survival; however in extreme situations this inner sensory will reveal itself and will manifest its uses to us. The firefighter that senses that they missed someone in a burning building, or perhaps felt that a part of the roof where they were standing was about to collapse and moved away at the last moment! The mother who wakes up in the middle of the night because they feel the need to check on their teenager and find that they have snuck out the window! Or even the woman who buys that can of mace because of a foreboding feeling and then uses it to defend off a carjacker a week later. These examples might seem extraordinary yet each and every one of us can relate to hearing about or experiencing at least one of these.

This inner sensory is listened to in extreme situations. But for those of us who are not in those extreme situations, it is good for us to find easy ways to develop and strengthen the recognition, and communication of that extra sensory that we call the extraordinary sixth sense!

Fun and Easy Ways to Develop Your 6th Sense

In this article you will learn three exciting games that will help you develop and strengthen your long lost sixth sense. With these simple yet powerful games you will gain a confidence in interpreting that "inner voice" leading you far beyond these games, and into a world of mystery, as you unveil the power of the sixth sense!

Strengthen your Sixth Sense with three simple games!

Deck of Cards

Take a deck of ordinary playing cards and place them facing down in front of you. Clear your mind as best you can. Pick up one card and hold the card facing away from you so you can't see what it is. You will start by trying to feel the color of the card, being black or red. Next, try and sense the suite of the card (spade, diamonds, clubs ETC). Last, the suite and the number of the card. The trick is to go with your first instinct. What you are trying to do is understand the feeling your sixth sense is sending regarding the suite. Each suite will have a specific feeling! When you experience a hit you want to remember what that feeling felt like. This is your sixth sense working to communicate its extrasensory perception. After you have had success with the suites, move on to feeling the number and the suite of the card. Remember that your first instincts are usually the best hits! A clear mind will help tremendously. Be sure not to overstrain yourself with to many cards in a row, as fatigue will lead you to start guessing for the answer versus feeling the card.

Number Game

This game is similar to the card game but is one you can do with a partner. The object of the game is again to clear your mind and feel the sixth sense communicating the correct answer. This game is very simple. All you need is a clear mind and a partner. You or your partner will pick who will be the Sender and Receiver. The Sender has to learn to project the sixth sense while the Receiver has to learn to hear it. First, have your partner pick a number. Pick a number between 0-10 for easy, 0-50 for medium and 0-100 for hard. Tell them to stay focused on the number and to visualize the number. What they want to do is project the feeling of the number to you. The same rules of the Card Game apply. Try to keep from guessing, and again go with your first instinct. After you have gone through six or seven tries with your partner, switch and be the person sending the number. The same principal applies for the sender as well as the receiver. The main point is to stay as focused and as free of chit chat in your head when you are trying to project the number to your partner. Again it's about the feeling of the number. Just remember that the clearer the mind and the more confidence you have the better the results. This game is sure to leave you feeling well on your way to developing something that is extraordinary!

Color, Shapes, and Number Game

Take 15 blank flashcards. You will have three different categories for these 15 cards. The first group is color. With a magic marker you will draw a quarter size circles in each card. The following colors are blue, green, yellow, red and black. The next group of five will be shapes. Draw in the shapes, circle, square, cross, triangle, and thunderbolt. The final set will be the numbers 1 through 5. When you are finished you will mix them up as best you can. The same principal applies here as with the other two games. Whether you are sending or receiving this silent communication you must remember that your first instincts are the best hits. Playing by your self or with a partner, the thrill of developing this unseen communication through this mysterious sixth sense will leave you feeling exhilarated!

The Fastest Way to Develop the Sixth Sense

Get a load of this!

95% of the people who I've seen attempt this technique had overwhelming success in just two sessions! You too will be forced to come to terms with your own Amazing Sixth Sense as the simple proof on the sheet of paper stares back at you!

The problem is that for most beginners this sounds a little scary. No one wants to look like a fool in front of a complete stranger.

Well, here's a tool that gives nearly all the benefits of practice with live strangers without the potential embarrassment and pressure that comes with first introducing yourself and sitting down with a complete stranger!

The 'Taking Off List' below will build up confidence quickly. It is a great tool for beginners and will show you how a Reading starts with basic observation and leads into full trust of the intuition.

It will also teach you what to look for and the different ways you can sense data in a person.

Once you have a few good sessions with the sheet you may find you're ready for the Verbal Reading which is more fluid and intuitive - make this your goal.

The Technique that will make you Great

Go to a local coffee house, bookstore, train, or any other semi-social place where people are stationary for five minutes. Select a person who you can see fairly well and get started using 'Taking Off List' below.

Hey hey! Don't stare...just look and take a visual snapshot...better yet, a 'feeling snapshot'...and work from that. Write your answers quickly, even if they seem like sheer guesswork.

When you're done, go up to your victim and say this: "Hi there, I'm Chris. I'm actually doing some research on the existence of the Sixth Sense. I'm not a psychic, I just thought it would be fun to see if any of the stuff I wrote down was anywhere close to accurate. What do you think?" And hand them your sheet.

The thing to remember is this: they are hanging out in the coffee shop - why? Because they're boooooooard! Now you're their savior - you're entertainment! They more than likely will be stoked to play along. But you're already done with the reading, so there's no pressure! And you already said you're not a psychic so who cares if you're wrong?

Make sure you write 'hit' on each accurate guess. If you are partially right or reasonably close mark it a hit. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt - you're just learning.

Rinse, Repeat...

Things to Remember!

Write in your interpretations. The more detail the better; if you keep getting info, keep going even if it's unrelated.

Draw from the initial sensation or feeling. The faster and less hesitant your answers the more accurate you will be.

Readings should feel light and fun, if you feel grinding difficulty, remember to stop and reset yourself with a deep breath and try again. Don't drain yourself - keep it fun!

The Taking Off List

1. How would you describe their disposition or personality?
2. Would you say they are Introverted or Extroverted?
3. Are they more organized or free-flowing?
4. How do you feel their political ideology is inclined? (e.g. liberal, socialist, moderate, conservative, authoritative, radical)
5. What hobbies do you see them taking part in?
6. What kinds of careers do you suppose they have had?
7. Do you feel they are an artist? If so, what kind?
8. How do you feel about their physical health?
9. What kind of living space do you see them in?
10. What kinds of foods do you think they enjoy?
11. Describe where are they from or where have they lived?
12. Rate the closeness they have with each of their parents?
13. What is their favorite color?
14. Do they have children? If so, how many? Male or female?
15. Do you feel they have ever had a near-death experience?
16. What fears do you feel they may have?
17. What kinds of things do they desire?
18. What do you think lies ahead of them in life?

Vivid Energy Dream

I had a very interesting dream the other night. It was very vivid and I was able to retain quiet a bit of it. I have been struggling to get it written out. It was a different dream in the fact that it wasn’t staged in the physical world. There was just energy.

I felt like I was floating but that isn’t right because I was just there in a space or a vacuum. I could feel the flow of energy all around and through me. It was very enjoyable as I rode the waves and became one with it. Up to this point it was all just feeling. There was no visual. Then as the energy began to illuminate ever so slightly. It was sort of a golden orangeish yellow color.

Visualize a dark room with colored mist that is self illuminating moving around on the air currents with no real rhyme or reason.

I am enjoying the feeling and visual and moving around within it, again I don’t feel as if I had a physical form, when I noticed that there seems to be a point of origin. I moved closer to it. As I got closer to it the waves in the energy grew larger and more organized. humm.

When I say organized I mean that it seemed to formed with an intent. The energy was being formed and directed with an intent. It was almost like ripples in water but three dimensional.

As I got even closer the color in the energy started to vary. Kind of like a color gradient that went from a bright yellow through orange and into red. I was just looking at it in awe. Watching and feeling it ebb and flow. It began to feel familiar so I continued to move closer.

Then suddenly there was a bolt that came from the source and connected to me. Then feeling was almost like a hot shower blasting down on you. The imagery reminded me of one of those novelty plasma balls. The glass ball with the pinkish purple energy running through them. When you touch the glass the beams of energy are attracted to your finger or hand.

When the beam connected with me I instantly knew the source was Eric Pepin. It was all in the frequency. As I took it all in I could see different beams moving all around Each one had a different look, feel, and frequency. I could easily move from one to the other. Each one had different information contained within. I was learning something new each time move to a different waveform. It was like it was being downloaded directly into me and I was becoming it.

One thing that has really stayed with me and stood out was the number five. It came at me in many different forms. The number “5”, roman numeral “V”, and a few other symbols that I had never seen before but I knew they meant “five”.

This went on for what felt like a good amount of time before something woke me up. I didn’t startle awake and just found myself awake lying in bed with an extremely loud tone blaring in my ears. I laid there awake for awhile trying to internalize as much of it I could before I rolled over and fell back asleep.

Spiritual Desire: A Delusion

Here is a new article written by Higher Balance. It is definitely a good read.
link to the original article: Spiritual Desire: A Delusion

Spiritual Desire: A Delusion?
You're driving along, minding your own business and all the sudden the sunset has assaulted your senses with all the color and light of an otherworldly portal. Before you know it you find yourself...contemplating life?

Why do we do that? Is there some spiritual force there, or has the sunset tweaked our brain?

To answer this, we have to explore the feeling. When you saw the colors, the lights, the size... was extraordinary, right? But was what you felt simply the sum of its visual parts, or was there something more?

I've talked to hundreds of people who've felt the same thing while sitting by themselves, taking a walk in nature, or meditating. They describe a smoldering spiritual presence even without those events. So we know that there is definitely a feeling that many people share.

So what is the feeling?
It comes from something called the 'Navigator', which is a fancy name for your brain's 'instinctual sense'. The Navigator can feel this macro-spiritual connection if you can stop and pay attention. You don't feel it all the time because most people just don't know how to quite their minds; there's too much chatter.

It just so happens that a beautiful sunset, with its awe-inspiring colors and light, has the power to stimulate you into that particular state of mind. It's kind of a wake up call - a reminder, that you're a part of something big.

But it is also reaching out to you. For that window of time, a spiritual transmission has burst into your reality to reach out to you and anyone who can share in it. Those who are open to those feelings will not limit the fullness of that fantastic moment.

What's this about communication?
The Universe is one huge living organism. We are all a part of it, just like how the cells in your body are living organisms within you, all living independently, and oblivious of you.

There are subtle forms of 'communication' between the parts and the whole. That's why for example, you can get an ulcer from doing stressful work; the messages you are sending to your cells are erratic and confusing. And that's why during a sunset you feel like you are shaking hands with God.

Spiritual Desire is also a desire for Answers and Ultimate Truth
Human Beings are naturally exploratory. Once we explore the area directly around us, we naturally want to know what's beyond the next hill.

Today, with the information age and the internet, information gaps are closing, and all the out-of-touch religions and folk-beliefs are losing credibility. Although 90% of people are ok with whatever satisfies the spiritual desire, the real seekers are pushing that boundary, hungry to understand greater and greater levels of truth.

True seekers aren't satisfied with the same old program everyone else seems to be following. There is something beckoning inside, a rebelliousness, to discard everything they've been given for something better.

Returning Home
Spiritual Desire also encompasses an inner need to return, like fragments of a shattered whole who all know that they were once part of something whole, and desire to one day return.

The Universe is here to experience life in this dimension. We are all a part of that experience-gathering process. The eventual return to the whole is as natural as the hand that reaches out to collect something shiny to bring it back to the eye to view (Yes, the Universe thinks this dimension is shiny).

That's one of the reasons meditation is so satisfying, you can go to a place of rest and peace anytime you like, and it gives you a recharge to take on life again.

The End is the Beginning is the End

or is it….The Beginning is the End is the Beginning

I wrote this to to update my profile on the HBI Navigator Site. I know not everyone has permissions on that site so I thought I would share it here as well.

On a second note. All you have to do to be able to interact on the Navigator Site is purchase the foundation set. Then you can join the best spiritual / metaphysical, or what ever you want to tag it as, website there is. Consider it a good investment in yourself.

I have owned the Foundation set since 2004, been on the Nav. Site for a little over a year and in Star Reach for just under a year. I figure it was time to update this about me section.

I was raised in a spiritually open environment. Both my parents are very spiritual but not very religious. When I was young my father started to learn healing energy healing techniques. He would share what he learned at seminars and in the books that he read with me. His interested stopped with healing but you could say that is were mine started. I just knew that there had to be more underneath it all. What was this energy? Where did it come from? Can it be used for more then healing? What is its’ connection with God and the Universe? There are many more that are too numerous to list. At the age of 13 my search started. I tried it all. I spent many hours sitting in books stores and libraries reading anything that grabbed my interest. Some of the more notable authors were Uri Gellar, Richard Bach, and Shakti Gawain. I tried it all, remote viewing, out of body, astral projection just to name a few. They all had their merits but I was looking for more. They were all working form the same starting point but never really explained what that point was. One day I was on a website forum that discussed remote viewing and other metaphysical topics when I found a post about Higher Balance Institute.

That post was made by our one of our friendly moderators Jesse. I visited the website a few times and went back and forth but finally ordered the foundation set. It was great and I really loved the information it presented. I had immediate results with the meditation. Then I fell victim to myself. Even though the meditations were great and I began to look for the next thing. I was so used to finding something and then moving on that I ended up automating my spiritual quest for knowledge. Looking back on it now I just shake my head at myself. I ventured off to the next thing that caught my attention. I soon ended up going back to the Higher Balance meditation and then away from it and then back to it again. The meditation just couldn’t be beat. About this time I get an email announcing a series of teleseminars. I called and logged in to all of them. They really sparked my interest and I ordered some of the expansion modules and the Handbook.

After awhile my practice just of went stagnant. I would meditate sparingly when the urge would strike. Then came the spark that propelled me to where I am at today. An email telling me about a new HBI web forum for people who have the foundation set. I signed up right then and there. I was really interest in what other people had to say and what they were experiencing. At the time I couldn’t have even imagined what was laying out before me. It was amazing reading and sharing with others. I really felt at home. Soon HBI began to release free material. I more then gobbled it up. Between reading what other Navigators where talking about and the appetizers that HBI had given out I decided it was time to buy more material. It all was amazing and my head was spinning with all the new information be thrown at me. When Eric announced the limited reopening of the Star Reach Lite program with new Coach Dan Tanguay I jumped.

My search had ended and I have found what I was looking for. In that end was the beginning of a new journey.

Trip to Seattle - Introduction

This is a recount of a trip I took to Seattle. The purpose of the trip was helping my dad drive my mom home to Helena. My mom had just gone through an extensive surgery and my dad had been stay with her in the hospital and not getting much sleep. At home I was dealing with a few things of my own. I was in the middle of studying for my professional license, my knee had been acting up the last couple of days, and my wife and I had just found out that we were expecting our first kid. All the same I decided that it wasn’t a good idea for my dad to try and drive home by himself and I booked a plane ticket for Seattle. Over the course of this little 2 day trip I had some interesting experiences that I though I would share. I am not claiming to know what was going on or if there was anything at all. I am just sharing some of the things that stuck out in my mind as I reflected after my return home.

Trip to Seattle - Getting Going

Trip to Seattle - Getting Going

As I start to prepare for my flight to Seattle I start to get a nervous feeling gnawing at my stomach. I don’t know why this is happening. I am not nervous about flying. I have my trip from the airport to the hospital planned out. The only thing that I can come up with is that I am nervous to see my parents, especially my mother who has just gone through an extensive surgery on her neck and throat. Once my bags are packed I took a moment to sit down in my meditation spot and just clear my head and relax. As I sat there with my eyes closed there was a sudden change in my emotion. I went from feeling nervous and anxious to a calm loving feeling. It struck me as different because it didn’t feel like it came internally from me but more like something came over and gave me a big hug. The types of hug you got from your mother or grandmother when you were a small kid. It completely surrounded me. Soon my wife arrived home. Her employer was kind enough to get her a few hours off in the middle of the day so she could take me to the airport.

Trip to Seattle - Airports and Planes

Trip to Seattle - Airports and Planes

At the airport I got through security with incident for a change. I would say I get randomly selected and personally checked almost every time I fly. I can remember one other time it hasn’t happened to me. This time I thought I would try and go into stealth mode. As I was waiting in line I focused on pulling all of my energy in. It felt like I was trying to hold my breath and plugging my ears. I say plugging my ears because everything seemed quieter while I was doing this. I think it did the trick because the security personal barely even gave me a single look let alone a second. One other thing of note, while I was standing in line there was a guy four or five people ahead of me that seemed to grab my attention. There wasn’t anything in particular about him that made him stand out. He ended up getting pulled aside for a random security check….strange.

While I was waiting for my plane I notice that there is a Buddhist monk sitting across the terminal from me. Not something that you normally see in Helena, MT. I scanned him and found that his energy was very calm, balanced and even slightly feminine. I also got the feeling that he was from Montana as well. I tried to make my presence know by expanding it across the room. I even gave him an energetic “Hi!” But if he was aware of me he wasn’t letting on. It was an interesting experience. After he got on his plane thought to myself that this could be an interesting trip and made it a point that I was going to try and stay aware as much as humanly possible throughout journey.

The plane ride went by in the flash with my trusty Zen MP3 player loaded to the gills with Higher Balance material. I listened to Power of Surrender. The ride wasn’t long enough to cover the whole module but I got a good chunk covered. As we came in for our landing I started to think about everything I had to do to get to the hospital. A small bit of panic set in. I have never been to this airport before; I don’t know where the baggage claim is. I don’t know how to get to the bus that I am suppose to take. What if the baggage is late getting to the claim and I miss my bus? What if they lost my luggage? Then I remember Baard’s blog of his recent trip and how he used time stepping to guide and calm himself. Good idea, too bad I don’t really know what I am doing. “It doesn’t hurt to try.” I tell myself. I make the discussion then and there that I am going to send back all the information that I need back to myself once I reach the hospital. A cool sense of calm came over me.

Getting off the plane I soon realize that just like every airport I have ever been. There are signs everywhere, just follow the signs stupid. Standing around the baggage claim I talk to a few people who were wondering about the college I went to, I was wearing an old sweatshirt, and what was wrong with my knee. I had stiffened up a bit on the plane and I was walking with a little limp. Damn, I thought I was covering it up well. Anyway my bags arrived shortly. I had only one. I would have carried on but they would have nabbed my contact solution. I grab my bag and sling my briefcase over my shoulder and try and figure out where to catch the bus. I found a directory that told me that public transportation stop was at door two. Where am I? The furthest baggage claim there is from door two. “Figures”, I tell myself as I start my hike across SeaTac. As I am walking I pass by a few news / concession stands at each one I am tempted to stop and get something to drink. “No, I don’t need anything else to carry,” I tell myself. I finally get to the bus stop and try and figure out what I am doing.

Trip to Seattle - The Bus and My Guide

Trip to Seattle - The Bus and My Guide

I walk over to what looks like a bus schedule and route map. It might as well have been in a foreign language. I knew the route numbers I was suppose to take but I couldn’t find anything on this map. Then this older Asian lady walks up to be asks if I need help in broken English. I’ll save you the broken English and paraphrase what she said. She asked me where I was going and she happened to be going the same direction so I could just follow her. Then she asks if I have change. Crap I don’t. She directs me to run inside and buy something so I will have change for the bus and to hurry it should be there soon. I do as she says kicking my present self for not listening to my future self about stopping and getting something to drink. I come out just as the bus is showing up. I follow her into the bus and pay the drive as instructed. She explained to me and the driver that I needed to pay for both buses at once. I honestly had no idea what she was talking about but everything worked out. The bus was pretty full so I let the lady sit while I stood next to her. I tried to have a conversation with her but she didn’t seem very interested so I stopped and watch the scenery fly by. When we got to the station that we needed to get off at she stood up and told me to follow her. We exited the bus and walked through the station and head outside and about a block up the street to the next bus stop. The route number matched the one I knew I was suppose to take so that made me feel better about following this lady around. We got on the next bus and took off. This bus stopped a lot more often. As I was standing again my knee was really taking a beating. We came to a stop and the lady stood up and told me that the next stop was mine. She told me to have a good evening and got off the bus. That was that. I got off at the next stop which was only 2 blocks away from the hospital. I hobbled up the street and through the hospital to find my mom’s room.

Trip to Seattle - The Hotel

Trip to Seattle - The Hotel

After spending some time with my parents it was time to get checked into the hotel. My dad had been staying in my mom’s room for the most part so he had checked out of his hotel a few days earlier. He decided that since I was going to be in town and that we would be driving home tomorrow that it would be a good idea to get a good nights sleep. One of the nurses had told us that it would be quicker to walk then to drive and find a parking spot. We took her advice grabbed our bags and headed out on foot. Well it was further then we thought and it was mostly up hill. Anyone who had been in Seattle can tell you that there are a lot of hills. We arrive and check in but the building our room is in is across the street. We get across the street and have to use our key to get into the building, but as we approach a lady from the inside opened and held the door for us. She says that she thought we could use some help even if I was wearing a Carroll College sweatshirt. Well the caught us both off guard but she explained that she was from Butte, MT. Butte is about an hour south of Helena and home to Carroll biggest rival school. We had a short chat with her in the lobby. It is a small world these days when you can travel 600 miles and still run into someone who lives 70 miles away from where you started. Too bad it wasn’t under better circumstances. Her husband was also receiving medical treatment and a nearby hospital.

Trip to Seattle - Finding Directions

Trip to Seattle - Finding Directions

Back from the hotel sitting in my mom’s room watching TV and talking to each. It takes a lot of effort for my mom to speak at this point so she doesn’t say much. After a while she decides to speak up. What does she say? “Go eat!” I tell her that I am fine and I get the same response and a stern look. So my dad starts to explain where a go place to grab something to eat to me. She then looks over at him and say “You too!” Here we have a woman who has been in the hospital for two weeks, can barely talk but still feels the need to makes sure we are taking care of ourselves. So after further demanding on her part we take off, again on foot. My dad tells me that there is a good place a couple of blocks away. Well we end up lost in a sense. I really didn’t mind I have having amazing time scanning and feeling out the new frequencies and energies. Once I found out that we were basically walking in circles I decided it was time to ask someone. Now people in walking down the street in Seattle act a little different then I am use to in Helena. When you walk past someone on the street here you usually get a nod, smile, friendly hello maybe even a small wave. This is not something that I have ever thought twice about but once the situation changed it felt weird. People look right past you like you aren’t even there or even noticeably avoid eye contact. There was even one guy that crossed the road in the middle of the block just to avoid walking past the two of us. I realize to get someone’s attention to ask for directions to going to take some work. Or so I thought. We turn a corner and coming up the sidewalk is a lady my age. She’s African and has long dreads with white cowrie shells in them. She seemed approachable so I gave her a friendly wave and greeted her from a distance. She was very receiving and pointed us in the right direction. Towards a main drag area with lots of active. We part ways and as we are walking away my dad comments that he can’t believe that. I asked what he couldn’t believe. He said he couldn’t believe that that girl would stop and talked to two guys on the street at night and give them directions. I thought about it more as we were walking. Then it struck me. That was twice in the same day that I was able to attract someone willing to help me out when I needed it.

Trip to Seattle - Dinner and The Bar

We find the main street and there are a number of different restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. We keep walking down the street to find something that looks good. We come to a side street and that has a number of bright neon signs. One of them just says “Tacos” and has a number of people standing around it inside and out. It sounds good so we head that direction and head inside. As we are walking through the door my dad mentions that he smells a skunk. One of the guys out front turned around and gave him a funny look. I just laughed. Wondering what was so funny I told him that he didn’t smell a skunk but he did smell the weed that they were smoking. It was a pretty cool place to eat. They had good food and the place was decorated to the gills. They had stuff all over the walls and hanging from the ceiling. When we got done eating we headed back towards the hospital. As we were walking up the sidewalk I notice there was a little bar ahead of us. It had a wooden awning stain dark and painted dark green. There was a little folding chalkboard sign sitting on the sidewalk with the drink specials listed. Then the part that didn’t fit, hanging from the awning above the door was a shiny brushed metal sign with bright red characters, as in oriental writing character. It seemed really out of place to me. As we came up to it I looked inside the windows. Seemed like a normal slightly up scale bar with dim lighting. We got towards one of the last windows when I notice that the person sitting at the table there is starring at me. I give the place one last look over and notice that almost everyone in the place was looking at me. It really gave me the creeps and I got a cold chill down my back. After we were by it I decided I had had enough fun for the night. I pulled my energy in and but my hands in my pockets.
