After spending some time with my parents it was time to get checked into the hotel. My dad had been staying in my mom’s room for the most part so he had checked out of his hotel a few days earlier. He decided that since I was going to be in town and that we would be driving home tomorrow that it would be a good idea to get a good nights sleep. One of the nurses had told us that it would be quicker to walk then to drive and find a parking spot. We took her advice grabbed our bags and headed out on foot. Well it was further then we thought and it was mostly up hill. Anyone who had been in Seattle can tell you that there are a lot of hills. We arrive and check in but the building our room is in is across the street. We get across the street and have to use our key to get into the building, but as we approach a lady from the inside opened and held the door for us. She says that she thought we could use some help even if I was wearing a Carroll College sweatshirt. Well the caught us both off guard but she explained that she was from Butte, MT. Butte is about an hour south of Helena and home to Carroll biggest rival school. We had a short chat with her in the lobby. It is a small world these days when you can travel 600 miles and still run into someone who lives 70 miles away from where you started. Too bad it wasn’t under better circumstances. Her husband was also receiving medical treatment and a nearby hospital.
