True Meaning of Christmas

I know that is not the title of an entry that most people would expect to see on a spiritual blog. But I ask why not? One does not have to dig very deep to find that Christmas is not purely a Christian holiday. Christians merrily found it convenient to celebrate the birth of Jesus during this time as the rest of the world and other traditions where enjoying their various winter celebrations. But I am not going to go on and on about the history of Christmas.

That can be found very easily with the simple use of a search engine - History of Christmas.
This website has some good information on it as well - The Real Story of Christmas.

I think we should celebrate the season for our own reasons. It is a great time of the year to reflect on the self and on the god within all of us. In the northern hemisphere this time year we are receiving the least amount of energy and information from the universe. Being that our star, the Sun, is the most dominate source of energy for us. More information on the changes in energy and the seasons can be found in the module Unbond.

Just like Scandinavians celebrated the return of the sun this time of the year. We can celebrate the return of the source. What better way to prepare ourselves for the return then to reflect the self and maybe even renew our practices that may have been slipping. In preparation for the increased energy levels that are soon to come. Just like the Christians of old the best way to remember to celebrate this is to do it during an already established tradition. That way the whole world is your reminder.

Namaste and Merry Christmas Everyone,

Chris
